Organic Jojoba Oil – Simmondsia Chinensis Oil

Cold-pressed · Unfiltered · Pesticide-free

It’s not an oil. It’s a liquid wax.

Jojoba is one of the most extraordinary ingredients nature has provided for skin care, and the reason is simple: technically, it is not an oil but a liquid wax. This distinction is not just chemical: it is what makes it incomparably stable, lightweight, and biocompatible with human skin.

A desert plant with millennia of history

Simmondsia chinensis grows wild in the deserts of Mexico and the American Southwest. The native O'odham and Apache peoples used it for centuries: the seeds were pressed to obtain a protective ointment against the sun, heat, and desert wind. They used this same oil to soften skin, protect hair, and treat wounds.

In the 20th century, when whale hunting was banned and spermaceti oil (used in cosmetics and lubricants) became illegal, the industry realized that Jojoba oil was the perfect natural substitute — with almost identical properties, but plant-based and fully renewable. Since then, Jojoba has become one of the most sought-after cosmetic ingredients worldwide.

Why skin loves it: the benefits

Deep hydration without clogging
The liquid wax structure mimics natural skin sebum. It absorbs quickly, leaves skin soft without a greasy feel, and does not clog pores — it is non-comedogenic, suitable even for oily and combination skin.

Emollient and nourishing effect
Rich in eicosenoic acid (gadoleic acid) and erucic acid, it nourishes the skin’s hydrolipidic film and reduces transepidermal water loss, helping the skin maintain its elasticity over time.

Natural antioxidant properties
Contains natural vitamin E (tocopherols), which protects skin cells from oxidative stress and helps maintain skin’s bright and youthful appearance.

Soothing and calming action
Thanks to its composition, it is particularly suitable for sensitive, reddened, irritated, or dry-prone skin. Suitable after shaving, sun exposure, or in adverse weather conditions.

Exceptional stability
Unlike many vegetable oils, Jojoba does not easily go rancid. Its wax structure makes it naturally resistant to oxidation, with a shelf life far superior to oils like argan or almond.

Sun, sea, and tanning

Jojoba oil is traditionally used to prepare the skin for sun exposure and to prolong a tan. Applied before or after sun, it helps keep skin hydrated and soft, promoting an even and long-lasting complexion.

⚠️ Does not contain sunscreen filters and does not protect against UV radiation. For sun exposure, use products with appropriate SPF.

Hair and scalp

When applied to hair, Jojoba:

  • Softens and tames hair without weighing it down
  • Nourishes dry, damaged ends
  • Rebalances oily scalp (mimicking sebum, signals sebaceous glands to produce less)
  • Protects against breakage and heat from styling tools

Our Jojoba: what sets it apart

  • Certified organic – grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers
  • Cold-pressed – low-temperature mechanical pressing preserves all active components intact
  • Unfiltered – retains the natural richness of the raw oil
  • Natural golden color – indicator of its unrefined state
  • INCI: Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
  • Texture: light liquid wax, easily absorbed

How to use it

Face and body: Pour 2–4 drops into the palm, warm between hands, and apply to clean skin with circular motions. Ideal as an evening serum or intensive treatment.

Hair: Apply a small amount to the ends or along the entire length as a pre-shampoo mask. Leave on for 15–30 minutes or overnight, then wash.

Lips and cuticles: Perfect as a targeted nourishing balm.

Massage: Ideal base, pure or as a carrier oil for essential oils, thanks to its stability and lightness.

In DIY cosmetics: Excellent base ingredient for creams, serums, balms, and natural soaps.
